Applegreen had ambitious plans to grow their business. To appeal to their target audience they knew they needed to rebrand and completely overhaul their existing website. We helped Applegreen to achieve their business goals with high end design and photography that showcased their fantastic products.
Applegreen is a big deal. Designing, sourcing, manufacturing and delivering fashion accessories to some of the UK’s biggest retailers (Avon, JD Williams and Next are all clients), the business is a one-stop shop for everything from handbags to hip flasks.
Their business model is simple. If a retailer had a clothing item needing a bespoke something-something to add that finishing touch, or if they wanted to offer customers an additional extra (say a free washbag for orders over £20), Applegreen make it happen from scratch. Designers, manufacturers, logistics experts and importers, the brand does it all themselves, providing products that are on-spec, on-brief, and on-pricepoint. In short, they take care of everything so that the retailers don’t have to.
However, Applegreen was a victim of its own success. Although their clients were huge, there was only a handful of them. The company realised that if it was to grow its customer base, it needed a new brand and website to make it look like an attractive proposition to prospective clients. The existing site they already had was not only fit-for-purpose, it was so out-of-date it may have been damaging their prospects. This needed to change
We started with extensive research into how fashion brands communicate themselves. The output was that although many of them are B2B offerings, most work very hard to achieve a B2C feel, with bespoke photography and a very high-end finish. So that’s what we opted for with Applegreen, hiring renowned product photographer Alex Bibby, known for his work with Disney, to shoot a selection of the brand’s products in an eye-catching way. Creating a special wooden background painted in the exact colour from the Applegreen brand, the products were shot from a great height to create a collage of images that we could then manipulate digitally. The result was a beautifully-shot set of photos that we were then able to incorporate into a specially responsive website. The images intuitively align themselves on the site to leave space for our product messaging, ensuring everything works together neatly and seamlessly.
Alongside the site, we also refreshed the brand logo, overhauled the copy and pulled everything together in a cohesive style. The result was a brand and website that couldn’t have been more of a contrast with what had come before. Not only going down extremely well with Applegreen themselves, who knew they now had a brand that potential customers could trust, the new site was quite the hit with customers. Applegreen saw a 300-400% increase in their customer base after the implementation of the new brand, a result which speaks for itself.
“Trust took the time to get to know us and understand our business before delivering a fantastic brand and website.”Jessica Yoo
